Making Hard Cider

Started a batch

Postby justin » Fri Apr 17, 2009 8:40 am

Welp got some juice concentrate from walmart last night and mixed up 5 gallons of juice. Tossed in my starter that i had make the night before and about 6 cups of sugar... OG was 1.080 and its bubbling like CRAZY this morning. So hopefully this stuff ferments out quick and i can get it in a secondary corney keg and in the freezerator for some aging for a month or two.

Ill post a video of the crazy fermentation later on today after i get it uploaded.

Well its saturday morning, started it thursday night so its been like 30 hours and the yeast has managed to bring it down to 1.060 already, and its still fermenting hard. So im guessing another 3-4 days of fermentation. Then ill rack it to a secondary and let it sit outside (hopefully it gets into the 40's' at night, then rack into a corney after the yeast settles out and let it age in the freezerator for a month or two.
